Good to know

Questions, answered.

Will it fit my Charlie oven?

Yes. It fits the Charlie Charcoal Oven, Cheeky Charlie Tabletop Oven and Professional Charlie Charcoal Oven.

When should I replace the door gasket?

On average every 1 to 2 years, depending on how often you cook. Replace it sooner if the seal is cracked or worn, or the door no longer closes snugly against it, as a worn seal makes the temperature harder to hold.

How do I fit it?

The new gasket feeds into place around the door quite easily. Anyone can change it.

Is a little smoke around the door normal?

Yes. A gap of about 1 mm around the door and a little smoke is normal. If the door feels loose, adjust the latch tension with the hex key supplied with the oven before replacing the seal.

How do I look after the seal?

Cook with the door shut, opening it only briefly. Never cook with the door ajar, as it damages the seal and the paintwork. Keep the oven below 400°C (750°F). Don't use the drip tray above 270°C (520°F), and never when making pizza, as the heat transfer can cause damage to the bottom of the door gasket.
