How to clean and look after a Charlie Oven, including cleaning the chimney spark arrestor
Slots straight in.
The chimney slots into the top of the oven and lets the air out as you cook.

Made to fit exactly.
Made in Britain to fit your Charlie, so the oven keeps working the way it should.
Questions, answered.
Will it fit my Charlie oven?
Yes. It fits the Charlie Charcoal Oven, Cheeky Charlie Tabletop Oven and Professional Charlie Charcoal Oven.
Will I need to replace the chimney?
Rarely. The chimney is built to last and doesn't really need replacing. If your oven is slow to heat up, try cleaning the spark arrestor first, as in the film above: it often just needs a clean. You can still order a new chimney if yours is damaged or you simply want a fresh one.
How do I fit the chimney?
It simply slots into the top of the oven. Anyone can change it.
What does the spark arrestor do?
It sits inside the flue chamber and stops sparks escaping from the chimney while you cook.
My oven is struggling to reach temperature. Is it the chimney?
It can be. When the oven is cold, take the chimney out and clean the spark arrestor with warm soapy water. A blocked spark arrestor slows the airflow, which keeps the temperature down.
How much space does it need above it?
Leave at least 50 cm (20 in) between the top of the chimney and anything above it.
