What our guests take home

I am very happy with the master class I attended with the Charlie team and Mark O’Brien. I picked up many new skills and new ways to use my Charlie oven at home. I have been to three masterclasses now and they never disappoint.

Charlie Oven masterclass questions

Do I need to own a Charlie Oven to come to a masterclass?

No. Charlie Oven masterclasses are open to everyone. Owners pick up new ways to use their oven, and if you’re thinking of buying one, a class is the best way to see what it can do.

Where are Charlie Oven masterclasses held?

Day classes are held in Kew, London, a short walk from Kew Gardens station. We send the full address when you book. We also run weekend retreats at Tresillian House in Cornwall.

Are the masterclasses suitable for beginners?

Yes. You don’t need any experience of cooking over charcoal. The chef explains each step and there’s time to ask questions as you go.

How hands-on are the classes?

You cook as well as watch. The chef demonstrates each technique, then you try it yourself at the oven. Each class page explains how that particular day is run.

Is food and drink included?

Yes. You taste as you cook and finish with a shared meal. Each class page lists the drinks included and anything you take home, such as written recipes.

Can you cater for allergies or dietary needs?

Usually, yes. Tell us when you book and we’ll talk it through with you and the chef.

Can I buy a masterclass as a gift?

Yes. You can book a place in someone else’s name, or give a Charlie Gift Card they can spend on a class.

What if I need to cancel?

Give us at least seven days’ notice for a full refund. Email charlie@charlieoven.com to cancel.

What should I wear?

Wear layers. We cook both indoors and outdoors under cover.
