RHS Chelsea Flower Show: Inside the Garden with Callum Corrie
For RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025, we’re thrilled to be working with talented garden designer Callum Corrie. His naturalistic style and love for seasonal eating have shaped our potager-themed garden into the perfect home for the Charlie Oven. We sat down with Callum to talk inspiration, outdoor kitchens, and the joy of alfresco living.

Getting to Know Callum
What drew you to garden design?
A love for plants and wildlife. I’ve always felt a connection to the outdoors.
Earliest garden memory?
Mowing the lawn into stripes like a football pitch. That early care for space stuck with me.
Design influences?
Nature is my biggest teacher. I also draw from designers like Tom Stuart-Smith and Piet Oudolf.
Why the Outdoors Matters
Outdoor living is part of Callum’s everyday ritual. "Morning air, evening calm — it's vital for feeling good," he says.
Cooking outside? "Absolutely. Picking something fresh and putting it straight on the grill — it’s unbeatable."
Designing the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Garden Stand

The concept: A potager-style garden created especially for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025 — a space where you can cook, relax, and live alongside nature.
Key elements: Bold oven colours as focal points. Layers of edible planting. Room for gathering and connection.
Designing for Charlie: “Charlie’s more than a cooking appliance — it’s a hub, a centrepiece.”

Callum on Charlie
First impression? “The colours stopped me in my tracks. Then I saw how unique it really is.”
What makes it different? “It balances style and substance. Other BBQs all look the same. Charlie doesn’t.”
His pick? “The charcoal oven. I'd use it every day — I probably wouldn't cook indoors again.”
Outdoor Kitchens in Garden Design
Outdoor kitchens are more than a trend — they’re fast becoming a must-have for modern gardens. “It’s on most people’s wishlist,” says Callum. “It’s about creating a space where nature, food, and people come together.”
Top tips for integrating a Charlie Oven?
- Plan space for prepping and serving
- Position seating and storage nearby
- Use planting to define zones for cooking, dining, and relaxing
What’s Next in Garden Living?
Callum sees seasonal eating and homegrown produce continuing to grow. “Zero food miles. Foraging. Being connected to what we eat — that’s the future.”
His advice? “Don’t be afraid to break your garden into zones. Let it reflect how you want to live outdoors.”
One Last Question...
What would you cook on a Charlie Oven right now?
“A pork roast dinner. Summer evening. My garden. Family all around. That’s my idea of heaven.”
