Christmas Charlie Oven Cooking Class with Chris Taylor

Get the most out of your Charlie oven this Christmas by joining us for a day of cooking up a feast for Christmas. Under the expert tutelage of Chris Taylor - fire cooking expert, co-founder of Whittle and Flame Charcoal and professional chef/food stylist.

Best of all, you'll enjoy the fruits of your labour with a sit-down meal, including festive drinks.

This cookery class is for Charlie oven users and those interested in fire cooking. Learn about charcoal cooking - how to light and control temperature. You will cook up a feast.  The menu is subject to change, but it will look something like:

 

 

MENU

Upon arrival 

Spiced hot chocolate/ whisky  

Roasted chestnuts

Nibbles

Truffled Tunworth, roasted tomato chutney and sourdough toast 

Dirty aubergine dip.

Flat breads and focaccia

 

Seafood 

Jerk prawns, gem leaf and coconut dressing
Cold smoked trout, roasted beetroot, horseradish cream, hazelnuts
Whole brill, caper butter sauce
Half lobster, grilled and finished with a chilli herb sauce made from lobster innards

 


Meat

Traditional turkey

Whole cote de boeuf

w/ gravy made over fire


  Vegetables

Roasted root veg, beetroot, parsnips.

Carrots, whole grain mustard, honey, hard herbs

Grilled sprouts, horseradish bread sauce, cranberry


Desserts 

Smoked rosemary meringues

Roasted apples with whisky caramel, hazelnuts and creme fraiche



Each participant will get hands-on experience cooking with the Charlie Oven. In addition, everyone will get a Charlie apron to wear on the day and take home with them afterwards.  And £50 Charlie gift card.
